From the Wuhan Textile University, Professor Xu Weilin, vice president of the school, won the Eleventh China Youth Science and technology award with his outstanding achievements in textile field.

Li Zhiyong, Vice Minister of the Central Committee of the CPC Central Committee, attended the commendation conference and read the commendation decision.

Professor Xu Weilin has long devoted himself to the development and research of new fiber materials and new textile products.

In 2008, its "super fine powder and reuse of high quality natural polymer materials" was awarded the two prize of national technological invention. In 2009, the leader's "efficient short process embedded composite spinning technology" was awarded the first prize of national science and technology progress. It was praised as "a revolutionary breakthrough in Chinese traditional spinning technology", and the acquisition of two national awards also made him the top scientist in textile field.

It is reported that the Chinese Youth Science and technology award was jointly organized by the Central Organization Department, the Ministry of personnel and the China Association for science and technology in 1987 under the proposal of Tsien Hsueshen. The purpose is to reward young and middle-aged scientists and technicians with significant research achievements, and select them every two years.
