Information released by the Russian Federation Customs Bureau on imports and exports of Russia's most important commodities for 1-3 months in 2010 showed that the proportion of Russian textile and footwear imports decreased.

In the 1-3 month of 2010, the import of textiles and shoes accounted for 7.1% of the commodity structure imported from remote countries, 0.4% lower than the same period in 2009, while the total value of imports of textiles and shoes increased by 12%. At the same time, the purchase volume of individual commodities changed in different directions.

For example, the import of cotton fabric increased by 18.7%, while leather leather shoes (shoes) imports decreased by 2.2%.

According to experts from Russia's Ministry of economic development, import data on leather shoes show that the import substitution process of the Russian footwear industry has actually been completed.

Officials admit that this factor has not yet had an impact on the growth rate of domestic leather shoes.

According to the data of Russia's National Bureau of statistics, the output of leather, leather products and shoes increased by 28.6% compared with March 2009 in March 2010, and increased by 13% compared with February 2010.

The report of the Russian Ministry of economic development explains that the growth of leather, leather goods and footwear output is based on the growth of tanning and leather processing, and the increase in the output of textile materials.
