India Cotton Exports Rebounded

The global demand for high quality cotton yarn is expanding, so in the 2010-2011 year, the export of India has been rising continuously, which has contributed to the domestic production.
Insiders say this year alone increased by 20%.
In the 2009-10 years, yarn exports doubled to 8 million 500 thousand packs, compared with 3 million 500 thousand exports in 2008-09.
S.K Panigrahi, deputy general manager of Cotton Corp in India, said high quality yarn demand pushed prices up.
In 2009, the price was 23000 rupees / candy (3.56 T) and now rose to 34000 rupees.

In the southeast of GUNTUR, Cotton Corp purchased 1 million 199 thousand bales of cotton.
Before the end of the 2009-10 cotton year in September 30th, Cotton Corp bought only 130 thousand bales of cotton that year, and the rest of the cotton was bought by private businesses.
This does not mean that Cotton Corp evade commercial procurement, but that Cotton Corp's main task is to intervene in the market when prices are unstable.
Because of the active lobby of the CACP, the government of India increased the minimum supporting price (MSP) from 2050 rupees to 3000 rupees in 2008-09, and cotton growers have never reduced their planting area since then.
