In the 2008-2009 years, the pgenic cotton planting area in India reached 7 million 600 thousand hectares, accounting for nearly 81% of India's total cotton area, according to the new report of APCoAB.
APCoAB is a project of the Asia Pacific Agricultural Research Association (APAARI).
The report says that more than 35 seed companies and public sectors are developing genetically modified organisms.
