According to the authorities, tanning enterprises with a production volume of less than 100000 will have to close.

Companies affected by the policy, including universal Industrial Corporation, said in a statement that the company would suffer losses of up to 10 million yuan because of the closure of production facilities.

XinglinLeatherChemicalPlant, a spokesperson for the six factories that were forced to close, said: "this is totally unfair and unfair to us because we are a leather chemical plant."

Another affected company said, "the leather production we are engaged in is a process from finishing to finished products, which produces less pollution and our pollution treatment is in line with local discharge standards."

The local government has not yet explained the appeal of these leather enterprises.
