The weekly average price of cotton spot on September 24, 2010 -9 30 rose 4 cents compared with last week.
As of Thursday (September 30, 2010), the basic quality cotton (chroma 41, leaf chip 4, fiber 34, micron value 35-36 and 43-49, strong 26.5-28.4, neat degree 81) in the seven designated market week average price is 97.51 cents per pound.
This week's average price is higher than last week's average price of 93.51 cents and last week's average price of 56.95 cents.
The lowest price on Sunday is 94.52 cents on Friday (September 24th), the highest point is 100.10 cents on Tuesday (September 28th).
This is the highest price since the average price of 100.61 cents per pound in July 1995 6.

Goods in stock
The total turnover was 860 packages, compared with 1719 packets last week, and 16104 packets in the same week last year.
In the same year, spot pactions totaled 6984 packages, compared with 91396 packets in the same week last year.
Thursday's ICE New York cotton settlement price in December was 101.92 cents, compared with 97.17 cents last week.
The US Department of Agriculture announced the adjustment.
