It may be named "toxic metal protection act -2010".
The purpose of this bill is to prohibit the production and sale of children's products containing cadmium, chromium, barium and arsenic with more than the specified limits.
Before the United States heavy metal control is only targeted at children's toys, can not play a full role in protecting children's health and safety.
Children's products - products designed or expected to be sold to children under 12 years of age or below.
Prohibition - no person shall produce or sell children's products whose heavy metal content exceeds the following limit:
(1) arsenic - 60ppm
(2) barium - 1000ppm.
(3) cadmium - 75ppm
(4) Cr - 60ppm.
Penalties - any person who violates the above injunction will be fined by the fourth part of the federal toxic substances act, the penalty of 15 U.S.C. 1263 and the fifth part 15 U.S.C. 1264.
At present, the bill has been fed back to CPSC, which will wait for CPSC's report and submit it to the house and Senate for further votes. The president will be effective after the signature, and it is expected that the whole time will last for about 1 years.
