The new environment-friendly TPU synthetic leather does not use any solvent, changing the original calendering process (similar to PVC artificial leather), directly using TPU particles to heat liquid coating on the bottom cloth, is completely environment-friendly product, and the product can achieve gas permeability and semi permeable effect by coating density and special treatment, and can produce synthetic leather knitted fabric, non-woven fabric and superfine fiber as the base cloth.

The new environment-friendly TPU synthetic leather can be used for making garments, furniture, sporting goods, military products, automotive interior decorations and decorative materials.

Because TPU has excellent wear resistance, tensile strength, elongation, flame retardancy, gasoline resistance, cold resistance and tortuous properties, TPU is often used to produce wheels, soles, screens and other products with high wear resistance.

Therefore, in Taiwan, synthetic leather manufacturers use TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers) as synthetic leather and synthetic leather coating materials to make artificial leather with high wear resistance and high tensile strength.

However, because of the poor permeability of TPU synthetic leather and the high price of TPU raw materials, TPU raw materials can not be widely applied (a few years ago, it was reported that Taiwan South Asia plastics company has successfully developed TPU environment-friendly synthetic leather, not only non-toxic, but also 100% recyclable.

TPU synthetic leather can be used in high value-added products such as medical products, leather bags, leather suitcases and sports shoes, but it is 5~6 times higher than that of PVC artificial leather.

However, with the gradual increase of the environmental requirements of synthetic leather, TPU synthetic leather will probably become a third environmental protection solution which is different from water and solvent free.

At present, TPU shoes decorations have been adopted by the world-famous brand shoes, and the insoles made by TPU are also selling well in Japan.
