In the first quarter of the new financial year, the disposable earnings per share figure was $42, which was higher than analysts' average expectations of 40 cents per share in the previous market survey.
The company's first quarter revenue was $10 billion 750 million, compared with $9 billion 20 million in the same period last year, an increase of 19% over the same period last year.
Analysts' average estimate of CISCO's quarterly earnings is $10 billion 740 million.
CISCO's stock price closed at $24.49 on Wednesday, up 0.14 dollars, or 0.57%. After the earnings announcement, the company's share price fell by 1.89 U.S. dollars at 5 p.m. Eastern standard time, which was $22.60, or 7.72%.
