Bangladesh Set Up A New Committee To Deal With Labour Problems.

Labor and Employment Minister Begum Sophie an recently declared that the government intends to form a three party standing committee to deal with the labor conflict in the clothing industry and pay close attention to the implementation of the new wage structure.

The meeting was mentioned at the meeting of leaders of the Association (BGMEA) and the labor union.
Several members, including representatives from various departments, such as representatives from the Ministry of labour and finance, and the representatives of Bangladesh clothing manufacturers and Exporters Association, Bangladesh knitwear manufacturers and Exporters Association, wage Bureau and other workers union, set up the committee, Su Feian said.
Su Feian suggested that workers apply to the Committee for complaints about wage disputes or any other questions in writing.
The workers' leaders said that the recent labor conflict in Dhaka and Chittagong's clothing factories not only involves the minimum wage of 3000 Taka, but also involves the imbalance of wages between new and old workers.
The workers' leaders called for a special group to focus on all relevant issues in each factory.
In addition, Su Feian asked the leaders of the workers to help implement the new wage structure.
