The chemical fiber covering made of this fabric covers indium tin oxide (ITO), which is a pparent oxidation compound used for touch screen of smart phone.

Haines Institute's experiments show that the textile has the characteristics of washing resistance, abrasion resistance and weathering resistance, and it will not cause harm to the environment and human body.

According to Haines Research Institute, as of now, functional textiles only have the function of blocking the release of electronic smoke from electronic devices or blocking the thermal radiation caused by fire or intensive solar radiation.

Edith Classen, the project leader, said: "this new type of textile can not only effectively shield the radiation, but also prevent static electricity. It is an ideal personal protective equipment choice for fire fighting, foundry and welding workshop, semiconductor industry, and Telecommunications security department employees."

It is reported that the textile material will be further developed for military uniform products to protect soldiers from the threat of infrared camera tracking and electromagnetic radiation.
