The revised draft notice on textile safety and quality standards and the notice of amendment to the safety standards for infant textile products are to be implemented in May 2011.

The new standard requires that the date of manufacture, batch number, bar code or style number be marked on the infant and household textiles. At the same time, it is required to test the adhesion strength of the small parts of infants and children's textiles, and warnings should be marked on the products, so as to prevent injury to infants and children.

As a product of high risk and high sensitivity, its safety issues, especially the safety of small parts, have always been the focus of attention in developed countries and regions such as Europe and America.

The South Korea issued a new standard to further strengthen the safety control of baby clothing parts, indicating that the safety problem of baby textiles and clothing has gradually attracted worldwide attention.

In order to ensure the quality and safety of garments for export children and promote the export expansion of clothing in China, the inspection and quarantine department suggests that the relevant production enterprises and trading companies should pay attention to avoiding risks during the pition period of new regulations. In particular, when signing new processing contracts with Korean customers, it is necessary to stipulate clearly the conformance and attribution of the product design, avoid causing trade disputes, strengthen the safety examination of the customers' designs, and change the one-sided psychological dependence on the customers' design. If finding out the defects of the customers' design can easily cause safety hazards, they should timely communicate with them and modify the design plan so as to ensure that they comply with the import and export regulations.
