The city's textile and garment industry accounted for 15.9% of the total sales revenue.
In recent years, the textile industry exports continued to grow rapidly, accounting for 33% of the city's foreign trade exports.
By the end of 2010, the number of Enterprises above Designated Size in Nantong's textile industry was 2851, accounting for 37.88% of the total number of Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 313 thousand and 200 of the total number of workers, accounting for 35.7% of the total number of industrial workers in the whole city.
