AQSIQ said that the children and infant clothing sampling involves 105 products, including 26 kinds of infant clothing and 79 kinds of children's clothing, produced by 100 enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong.
The quality supervision department inspected 9 items, including fiber composition and content, formaldehyde content, pH value, banned decomposable aromatic amine dye, sweat stain resistance, water resistance, friction resistance, saliva resistance, sewing strength (button and clothing belt).
Among them, infant clothing (category A) qualified 23 kinds, the pass rate is 88.5%, children's clothing (category B and C) products are qualified 68 kinds, the pass rate is 86.1%.
In the spot checks, a total of two enterprises in Shanghai were listed on the blacklist.
Among them, the Babu bean long sleeved shirt produced by Babu (China) children's products Co., Ltd. was found to have exceeded the pH value of the front and back materials. The H&M baby coats produced by Haines Maurice (Shanghai) Commercial Co. Ltd. had the problem of unqualified fiber composition and content in the lower part.
Experts say that excessive pH is prone to cause dermatitis, skin itching and other symptoms.
At present, the quality supervision department has put forward specific rectification requirements for the manufacturers of the unqualified products in the spot checks.
