About the origin of this kind of hat, there is still a beautiful and moving legend in the Kirgiz people.

In ancient times, the Kirgiz had a handsome, brave and resourceful king. During the long campaign, he often felt that his army and people's clothes and caps varied and their horses were multicolored, affecting their military strength and combat effectiveness.

So before the expedition, he summoned forty counsellors and ordered the unification of the horses.

And they need forty days to prepare a uniform hat for every soldier and citizen. This hat should be like a sparkled star, but also like a blooming flower with color. It is like a snowy ice peak and a green mountain ring. It can avoid rain and snow and prevent sand storms.

Thirty-nine days later, thirty-nine of the counsellors were killed one by one because the designed hat failed to meet the king's request.

In the end, a brilliant, clever and capable daughter of the fortieth counsellors was very intelligent, and the white felt hat was designed. The king was very satisfied and ordered the army and the people to wear it. From then on, it was passed on to the present.
