Bangladesh ranks as an international jute Market and exports about 350 thousand to 380 thousand tonnes a year, accounting for about 80% of the total international demand.

Bangladesh jute yarn is one of the raw materials for carpet manufacturing in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

The import and export volume of jute yarn in 3 places accounts for 66% of Bangladesh's total exports, and is the 3 largest exporter of Bangladesh jute yarn.

North Africa's demand for non essential goods also declined as the situation became uneasy, so carpet sales fell.

The Turkey carpet factory also reduced production.

Nevertheless, the export income of jute yarn from Bangladesh in the first 9 months of fiscal year 2010 to 2011 still amounted to $381 million, up 43% from the same period last year.

But the dealer said: the impact of the slowdown in the export rate of jute yarn will be reflected in the late fiscal year.

In addition, officials of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation in Bangladesh also indicated that the demand for some jute products began to slow down.
