consumption

Global cotton production forecast will rise to a record 125 million packs, 10 million packs higher than the 2010-11 cotton season.


In the 2011-12 cotton season, a growth rate of nearly 9% has driven the forecast of cotton production to be close to 12 million packages higher than the five annual average.

2011-12 cotton production will increase in most cotton producing countries, with India, China and Pakistan as leaders.


In the 2011-12 cotton season, the world cotton consumption forecast will reach 119 million 500 thousand packs, 3 million packs higher than the 2010-11 cotton season, the largest cotton consumption since the 2007-08 cotton season.
