Climbing in 2011, Peru's textile and garment industry is expected to maintain strong growth.
Peroni predicts that Peru's domestic sales of textiles and clothing will increase by 10% over last year's 2 billion US dollars, and exports will reach US $1 billion 600 million, an increase of 12%.
Peroni said that although the United States is still the largest buyer of traditional Peru, Peru's share of exports to the United States has dropped from 70% a few years ago to 58%.
Venezuela, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Columbia and Brazil have become a bigger export market for textiles and clothing in Peru.
