The diameter of the fabric or non-woven fabric produced by traditional technology is usually tens to hundreds of microns (1 mm =1000 micron). When the fiber diameter is reduced to 1/1000 of ordinary fiber, it is called nanoscale fiber (1 mm =100 nm).

Because of its high porosity and large surface area, nanofibers have special functions to surpass traditional fibers.

Authorities predict that in the next 2011-2013 years, all products based on nanotechnology will reach 1 trillion and 600 billion yuan in the world and will grow at 19% annually.

The Hu Ping team started the process of preparing nanofibers by electrospinning in 2002.

The team has independently designed and developed the first pilot scale nanofiber production equipment in China, capable of producing 1000 kilograms of nanofibers per year.

Each device can save at least 10 million yuan for foreign imports, which can greatly reduce the production cost of nanofibers.

At present, the team has established the evergreen source biological Mstar Technology Ltd in Langfang, Hebei, focusing on equipment optimization and capacity expansion.

Hu Ping pointed out that at present, large-scale production of nanofibers in China is just beginning to usher in the dawn, and once it enters the industrialization stage under the impetus of the capital market, it is expected to bring shock to the world market.
