Breakthroughs In Chinese Textile And Clothing Industry

2011 "China"

19, the Trade Fair for clothing and apparel opened in New York.

The exhibition has been successfully held for 11 sessions since 2000 and has great influence in the textile industry.

The current textile and clothing trade exhibition was held in the context of rising domestic textile raw materials, rising labor costs and higher exchange rate.

The organizers hope to guide exhibitors to focus on product counterparts in the US market, help SMEs upgrade their product mix, and meet the challenges of many unfavorable factors through upgrading the value added of export products.

According to the reporter's on-site observation, the organizers of the exhibition have spent a lot of time elaborately arranging, trying to further integrate into the mainstream business channels of the United States, giving people a refreshing feeling. The three exhibition areas of clothing, fabrics and home textiles show different characteristics, providing a better exchange and trading platform for Chinese enterprises.

But China's exhibitors are not particularly optimistic about the current market situation.

Cheng Wen Liang, a representative of an exhibitor from Shandong, told China news agency that the latest domestic textiles

raw material

The price fluctuated sharply, and there was a sharp rise and fall in recent years, which made the production chain of enterprises affected and the profits of enterprises declined.

When it comes to the US market, he says business is not as good as it used to be.

He believes that this is caused by other countries competing for Chinese enterprises' share in the US market.

Xiao Yan, a exhibitor from Zhejiang, also expressed the same concerns to reporters.

She also believes that the rising price of raw materials has given her enterprises no small challenge.

But Cheng Wen Liang and Fu Xiao Yan told reporters that the export of enterprises to the US remained basically stable, believing that with the fluctuation of raw material prices, the market environment will improve in the future.

Zhang Yankai, vice president of China Textile Industry Association, told China News Agency reporters that the rise and fall of raw material prices really made many textile enterprises feel "unable to eat".

He believes that supply and demand can only affect some people, which may also involve hoarding or market speculation.

Zhang Yankai said that not only the rising raw materials made enterprises feel difficult, but also the rise in labor prices and energy prices, while China's banks were tightening monetary policy.

But after all, the impact of those big textile enterprises with design, originality and brand names is not great, especially in the international market.

This trade show has more than 300 exhibitors from China's domestic textile enterprises, showing an increase of 30% in volume and display area.

In addition, there are more than 300 international exhibitors from 16 countries and regions outside China, exhibiting the trend of global resource allocation in textile supply chain.

Zhang Yankai told our correspondent that the current difficulties in the textile industry are not only in China but in the textile industry of many countries. If China wants to realize the pformation to a strong textile country, it needs to work hard to improve its capability of independent innovation. This New York exhibition is a good opportunity.

He believed that the breakthrough of China's textile industry should be "four steps": the most important thing is scientific and technological innovation, to learn advanced technology from developed countries such as the United States; secondly, to build up its own brand, to make Chinese enterprises become "OEM" for large European and American companies; third, to take the road of sustainable development and reduce energy consumption; fourth, to build up a contingent of qualified personnel and train young talents with advanced western technology.

It is understood that some well-known textile enterprises in China have begun to participate in the exhibition in New York as a platform for us to open up the US market, so as to understand the US market and plan for long-term development.
