In July 25, 2011, the Ministry of industry and information technology and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences jointly held a press conference to jointly publish China.

The report first built industrial development index from five dimensions: production efficiency, sustainable development level, technological innovation, international competitiveness and industrial growth, and evaluated the overall level of China's industrial development and the development level of various industries.

Based on the current and long-term perspective, the report looks into the trend of China's industrial development and industrial policy evolution during the 12th Five-Year.

According to the report, the theme of China's industrial development will change from "readjustment and revitalization" to "pformation and upgrading" during the "12th Five-Year" period.

The direction of industrial development will be marked by further deepening of heavy chemical industry, accelerated development of advanced manufacturing industry, rapid cultivation of strategic emerging industries, and deep integration of informatization and industrialization.

The emphasis of industrial policy is to lay stress on the combination of top-level design of unified policy and implementation of local conditions, elimination of backward development and advanced collaborative development, promotion of merger and reorganization, and promotion of healthy development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

To promote industrial development and structural adjustment, we should focus on coordinating the relationship between government and market, external demand and domestic demand, industrial and service industries, traditional industries and emerging industries.
