Brazil

The representative of Brazil Footwear Company Porto Alegre Werner in China said it hopes to double its sales in China in the short term.

At present, the company sells about 1500 pairs of leather shoes to China every year.

Werner Leonardo Sauter, a representative of China, said, "we want to have a better understanding of the Chinese market.

We have the opportunity to launch value-added products in the Chinese market.

Werner produces 2500 pairs of leather shoes every day and exports to several European and Middle Eastern countries.

But the sales level in China is relatively conservative, and the Chinese market consumes 4 billion pairs of leather shoes every year.

However, according to Sauter, Asia is a huge and young market, and there is great opportunity for the footwear industry in Brazil.

In early October, a delegation of 15 shoemaking businessmen visited China to study the sale of high-grade leather shoes to middle-level, middle and upper level and upper class female consumers in China.

The delegation visited four of the largest consumer centers in China: Hongkong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Sauter said that the quality and design excellence of Porto Alegre Werner has attracted several local retailers in China.

The Chinese footwear industry not only failed to resist foreign brands entering the Chinese market, but regarded it as a windfall.

Wei Yafei, shoemaking director of China Leather Industry Association, said: "China's leather and footwear industry wants to carry out more international cooperation, because Chinese companies need to learn from foreign companies' good experiences and good methods to enhance their international competitiveness."
