Michael Kors, the famous American fashion designer, was born in Long Island. He said in a statement, "Lance and I are very excited to be married in the state where we were born."
Michael Kors, 51, also said, "we do not intend to hold a grand party, but we will hold a private wedding."
According to media reports, Michael Kors and LePere were seen on Thursday receiving the marriage certificate in the New York municipal government. The two met in 1990, when LePere had just entered the company's internship.
Michael Kors is one of the public figures who recently announced their marriage with same-sex partners.
The famous actor Neil Patrick Harris recently said he had been engaged for many years with her boyfriend David Burtka, and plans to get married in the future. However, he said that the date and location were still uncertain.
Neil Patrick Harris also says that weddings will be low-key and private.
