Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou province has ten ethnic groups: Miao, Dong, Han, Shui, Zhuang, Buyi, Yao, Tujia, mu, and she, and now there are 33 ethnic groups. It is the largest habitation of Miao and Dong people in China. On this land of multi ethnic groups, national costumes are varied and colorful, especially Miao and Dong costumes.

Shanghai and Guizhou have special origins.

The "silver makeup neon" - the Qiandongnan national costume exhibition, jointly organized by the Shanghai national folk and folk culture and creative promotion center and the Qiandongnan National Museum, is mainly represented by "representativeness".

Qiandongnan folk production technology has a long history, many of which are included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.

During the exhibition, the craftsmen displayed and introduced typical folk craft skills at the scene, including Miao silver ornaments, batik, Lusheng, tin embroidery, broken line embroidery, Miao paper cutting, mud whistle and Si Zhou stone inkstone, one of the eight famous inkstones in China.

According to the organizers of the exhibition, the handicraft exhibition area is mainly silver ornaments and embroidery.

Among them, the silver ornament "Drum Tower" is based on the Drum Tower of Dong nationality. There are gourd or Millennium cranes on the top of the drum tower. It symbolizes auspicious safety, and the drum is painted and embossed. It is a portrayal of the Dong family's life.

There are also the "frost and rain bridge" made of pure silver in the prototype of the Dong nationality wind rain bridge.

Embroidered pieces also have "embroidered sleeves embroidered with holes, embroidered sleeves" embroidered pieces, the design of the Miao totem and the worship of dragons, butterflies and so on. The colourful and gorgeous colors are rare art in modern embroidery.
