Bangladesh Government Supports Small Garment Manufacturers

The small and medium-sized units in the sector will receive financial support from the government in generating electricity for their own use and expanding the market for new products.
The mechanism will be based on second stimulus policies, according to a notice issued by the Central Bank of Bangladesh on Sunday.
The notice said that less than one megawatt generator capacity in the small and medium-sized units of the clothing and garment sector will receive 10% of their generating cost.
The clothing and clothing department will expand their product distribution and get 5% of the value of their export products.
The Central Bank of Bangladesh said in a notice last November 9th that garments and garment factories export their products to countries other than countries such as the United States, Britain, Canada and the European Union. They will receive 5% incentives in fiscal year 200910, 4% in fiscal year 2010-11 and 2% in the current fiscal year.
