Huntsman has announced that in order to enhance the global competitiveness of the company, the Swiss Basel region will be rebuilt.

Huntsman said that the reconstruction may cause Basel textile dyeing and chemical department more than 500 unemployed, more than 100 people pferred to other areas, but the Basel research center is not affected by this time.

Paul Hulme, President of the textile dyeing and finishing department, said: "the company's textile business is performing well in the Asian market. Sales in the region account for more than 50% of the company's revenue. However, the cost of human resources consumption in Europe accounts for 2/3, so the company needs to rearrange the textile dyeing and finishing business."

Although the reconstruction plan is difficult to implement, in the long run, Huntsman's textile business will develop more strongly after redevelopment.

The company also said that because it might shut down the factory, it would pfer products to other areas to ensure products.
