Sponsored by the China leather and footwear industry research institute and the China Leather Industry Information Center, the 2007 China Leather Industry Development Forum and the Duan Zhen leather and footwear science and technology award ceremony, hosted by China Leather magazine, was held in Beijing from November 30, 2007 to December 1st.

China Leather Industry Development Forum is committed to exploring the trend of the world leather industry and the development direction of China's leather industry. It is becoming an important platform and bridge for government officials, industry leaders, industry elites, experts, scholars and other dialogues, communication and exchanges.

This year's forum once again follows the style of previous years, and the keynote speech is combined with the guest forum.

At the meeting, officials from the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce interpreted 2007 new policies and discussed the trend and trend of industrial policies. The State Environmental Protection Administration officials interpreted the latest environmental policies, measures and future developments, and expounded and analyzed the future development prospects of the whole industry. Mr. Duan Zhenji, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, made a keynote speech on the future of China's pigskin leather making industry, which attracted the attention of the guests present. Wu Kecong, chief representative of Italy leather Federation in China, analyzed the tanning history of European countries, and analyzed the development trend of leather industry in China.

In addition, the three thematic forums run through the conference. The theme forum of "focusing on the general trend and strategizing" has been invited to the national development and Reform Commission officials, the State Commerce Department officials, the State Environmental Protection Administration officials, and the president of the leather and footwear industry Research Institute of China, and other relevant personages on the interpretation and trend of the leather industry's industrial policies, environmental protection policies, and import and export laws and regulations.

In the theme forum of "details and success", the host and tannery general workers discussed the location of products, market competition, staff management and communication with the boss in tannery enterprises, and some other details decided the future and fate of tanning enterprises.

During the forum, the guests on the stage exchanged with the participants and pushed the scene to a climax.

During the meeting, the awarding ceremony of "Duan Zhen leather and footwear technology award" was approved by the Ministry of science and technology and the National Science Award Office.

As the only national approved leather and footwear industry's highest award, the award has promoted the scientific and technological progress of leather and footwear industry, and has won wide acclaim from the industry.
