According to the mandatory inspection system for textiles carried out in Taiwan region this year, following the mandatory inspection of infant textile products and accessories in June 1st, more clothing and textiles will be mandatory since January 1, 2012.

The implementation of the ECFA agreement has made the development of cross-strait economic and trade more rapid, and has brought more opportunities and options to textile and garment export enterprises which are often blocked by the European and American markets.

In this regard, the inspection and quarantine department recommends that the relevant enterprises: pay close attention to the possible impact of the progressive implementation of the compulsory inspection system on textiles in Taiwan, and make the product self-test as early as possible according to the technical requirements of the target market, and actively improve the production process, use environmentally friendly raw materials, and ensure products.
