So far, Jinjiang has won this honor for 6 consecutive times, achieving six consecutive championships.

At the same time, 3 members of the Standing Committee of the Quanzhou Municipal Committee, Yang Yimin, Secretary of the Jinjiang Municipal Committee, Jinjiang mayor Li Jianhui and Jinjiang science and Technology Bureau Director Wu Feiyue were commended by the Ministry of science and technology and won the honorary title of "advanced individuals in the national science and technology progress of the city (county, district) in 2005 to 2006".

At present, Jinjiang has 3 key high-tech enterprises, 81 state-level high-tech enterprises, 2 state-level enterprise technology centers and 7 provincial-level technology development centers.

In 2006, the output value of the new and high technology industry reached 22 billion 275 million yuan, accounting for 20.16% of the total industrial output value of the whole city. It has become an important supporting force for the sustained, rapid and healthy development of Jinjiang's economy.
