It is reported that the Egyptian customs began to impose new import regulations from February this year. Besides the inspection certificate before shipment, shoes and garments also need to provide "ILAC" certificates issued by third party organizations before they can be exported to Egypt.

Egypt is one of the main markets for the export of Shaoxing to Africa. In this regard, the Shaoxing Bureau reminded manufacturers and foreign trade companies to take the following four measures so as not to cause the goods to be rejected by the Egyptian side without the "ILAC" certificate.

First, at present, Egypt requires compulsory footwear and clothing to issue third party certificates of "ILAC" and "CNAS" (Chinese acronym Accreditation Committee). All export enterprises should pay attention to the new regulations in time, so as to avoid being returned by the competent authorities in Egypt because they can not provide "ILAC" certificates.

Second, make preparations for the application of the "ILAC" Certificate in a timely manner, focus on Egypt's inspection range and standards for clothing and footwear, and consult the inspection and quarantine departments with the relevant policies to prevent goods from being blocked at the Egyptian ports.

Third, clothing and footwear manufacturers should focus on the scope of testing, timely adjust production methods and improve production technology, so that the test results meet the standards.

According to the relevant person in charge of the association, the following is the inspection range of footwear and clothing: three types of clothing can be tested; fiber composition is qualitative, free formaldehyde, banned azo dyes; leather shoes: banned azo dyes, fumaric acid two methyl ester, pentachlorophenol, wear resistance, folding resistance and peel test; other footwear: banned azo dyes, free formaldehyde, wear resistance, folding resistance, peel test.

Fourth, when signing a contract with the customer, we should give full consideration to the pre shipment inspection and the "ILAC" certificate and so on, and reserve enough time to avoid unnecessary economic losses.
