New Zealand Will Cut Import Tariffs On China'S Footwear Products

Tariff

According to New Zealand media reports, in January 21, 2008, New Zealand Trade Minister Phil Lou Goff said that the fifteenth round of free trade negotiations between New Zealand and China came to an end, and the two countries are expected to sign an agreement in April 2008.

New Zealand is likely to become the first developed country to sign free trade agreements with China, so both sides have high expectations.

Goff said that during the new China free trade negotiations, China agreed to gradually reduce import tariffs on New Zealand's agricultural products.

As the world's largest exporter of dairy products, New Zealand will also cut import tariffs on Chinese clothing and footwear products.

New Zealand expects that the signing of the two countries' free trade agreement will enable New Zealand exports to China to grow to 400 million New Zealand dollars (US $304 million) in one year. Even so, New Zealand exporters are still calling on China to reduce technical barriers to trade.
