According to the news from the Quanzhou inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the EU has formally implemented the new textile label regulations since May 8th, and has put forward new requirements for the name of textile fibers, the contents of textile labels and other marks.

It is reported that the new EU regulation requires that the label of textile products should be marked with the country of origin, if the product is packaged, it should be marked on the package; other commercial documents showing the origin of the product can not be used as a substitute for labels; at least two links in the manufacturing process of a textile spinning, weaving, finishing or sewing are considered as originating in the European Union countries; textile labels must clearly indicate whether there are non textile parts derived from animals, such as fur and leather; if products imported from third countries should be enforced, the original labels must be attached.

According to the introduction, for the products sold and sold before May 8, 2012, the regulation has been given a pitional period. The deadline for the pition is November 9, 2014. After that date, the relevant products will be withdrawn from the market or must comply with the latest regulations.

Quanzhou is currently one of the main export bases for domestic textiles and garments.

In 2011, the Quanzhou inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected and supervised the 46 thousand batch of export garments and the value of the goods was $1 billion 854 million, of which 22 thousand and 800 were exported to the European Union, and the value of goods was 963 million US dollars, and the value of textile products exported to the EU accounted for 51.9%.

According to the analysis of the industry, the implementation of the EU's new textile label regulations will not only increase the trade risk of China's textile exports, increase the difficulty of export, but also increase the production links of enterprises, increase the burden on enterprises, and extend the clearance time of cargo ports.
