China Shoe Enterprises V. European Commission

2008/3/8 0:00:00 10347

European Union

In 2006, the EU launched anti-dumping investigations involving more than $700 million in Chinese leather shoes. In October 7th of that year, the dumping rate of Chinese leather shoes was 16.5%, and a two-year anti-dumping duty was levied.

5 enterprises such as AOKANG, new born port and WAN Bang shoe industry filed a lawsuit against the European Union Court at the end of December 2006 because of their dissatisfaction rulings.

The lawsuit, which lasted more than one year, is expected to be held in the near future, but the specific time has not yet been determined.

Public opinion holds that the European Court of justice is slow in handling the case and unfair to Chinese shoe companies.
