In the 1-5 month, the export situation of textile and clothing can be summarized as the overall downturn. However, the export of finished products (clothing and home textiles) is better than that of semi finished products (yarns and fabrics).

First of all, the finished products, from March to August last year, are the peak period for export of garments and home textiles. The monthly growth rate of garment exports is over 23%, and the monthly growth of home textile exports is over 9%.

If clothing and home textiles exports continue to grow steadily this year, it is estimated that the annual increase in clothing exports will be 5%-8%, and the growth rate of home textile exports will be over 10%.

Second, half finished products are affected by high domestic cotton prices.

And cotton exports are blocked, and domestic sales are not smooth.

Exports, cotton yarn and cotton cloth prices fell by 14.9% and 12.1% respectively, the export volume has dropped by 22.5% and 6.6% respectively. For example, the domestic cotton policy has not been greatly adjusted. This year, the situation of cotton yarn and cotton cloth export decline is almost certain.

On the import side, some garment manufacturers recently reported that many enterprises were converted into direct imports of cotton yarns, which were much lower than domestic prices, because of the impeding import of cotton and high domestic cotton prices.

Customs data also confirmed this statement. In 1-5 months, the import of cotton yarn increased by 28%, and the average import price was $3.3 / kg, which is 34% lower than the average export price of our country.
