Strive to achieve the target of 8 billion yuan per year in Bishan footwear industry by 2010, and build the largest shoe-making industrial base in the West.

At present, there are more than 1300 shoemaking enterprises and operators in Bishan county. The shoe making industry has become one of the three pillar industries in Bishan county. The annual output of leather shoes is 62 million pairs, with an annual output value of 4 billion 570 million yuan, of which 15 million of the export shoes are about two, but the vast majority of enterprises take the form of border trade or OEM and lack local brands.

With the development and growth of the footwear industry in Bishan, with the encouragement and guidance of the government, the owners of footwear enterprises have realized the importance of brand and set up a sense of "going abroad". Now, 6 shoe enterprises have obtained the right of self import and export and obtained the "entry permit" to enter the international market.

It is learnt that Bishan county will organize a delegation to India this year to promote leather shoes.

At the same time, at the fourth Shoe Expo, Bishan county will also set up an International Pavilion specially, invite foreign enterprises to visit, provide platform for the footwear enterprises to exchange with each other, and also explore mature and fixed terminal customers for local enterprises.
