Control Of Wage Income Tax For Leather Workers In The New Year
According to the forecast by the State Administration of Taxation, about 8000-10000 foreigners from India, China, South Korea, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are working in the textile, energy and leather industries in the name of technical personnel.
Some of these people are not technicians at all. Some of them are actually serving local businesses, but they are unlawfully enjoying the tax relief granted by the Mencius government.
In the 08 to 09 fiscal year, the State Administration of Taxation will strictly control such relief measures.
After investigation, foreign technical personnel who do have duty-free qualifications will also be restricted to 3 years. If the technician resigns from the company within 3 years, he will no longer enjoy the tax exemption.
The State Administration of Taxation estimates that this measure will increase revenue by 600 million Taka per year.
