The project of "treatment technology of waste salt water used as raw material for ion-exchange membrane caustic soda" was undertaken by Wanhua Group of Yantai. In mid June, it was approved by the Shandong provincial science and technology department. The production equipment was officially launched yesterday, and ionic membrane caustic soda has been produced.

It is understood that in the process of producing two phenyl methane diisocyanate in Wanhua Group of Yantai, neutralization reaction between caustic soda and hydrochloric acid is needed, and the waste salt water produced before is discharged into the sea after reaching the standard.

On the one hand, a large number of industrial salt and industrial pure water will be wasted; on the other hand, the raw salt must be purchased as raw material for caustic soda production.

Because the water quality of MDI waste water is very complex, if it is to meet the requirements of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda production and the technical difficulty is great, domestic and foreign enterprises have not implemented relevant projects.

The Wanhua Group of Yantai adopted the technology of treated brine to meet the requirements of the control index for the production of brine in the production of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda. The technology is reliable and safe to use and can be applied to industrial production.

The successful development of this technology has basically solved the problem of waste saltwater treatment that plagued MDI production enterprises.
