Indonesia's Bali provincial government plans to enact a local regulation next year to ensure the preservation, maintenance and growth of domestic traditions. Spin Ni Wayan Kusumawathi, director of Bali industrial and Trade Bureau, said the product and textile industry.

At the Bali textile seminar, Ni Wayan Kusumawathi said that the local legislation not only covers trade, but will also form part of the government's efforts to maintain local culture, and it will also expand to maintain the field, producing craftsmen of traditional textiles, processing, design and patterns, the Jakarta Post reported.

Once this local regulation is implemented, it will greatly help the institutions that support traditional textile producers, Ni Wayan Kusumawathi adds.

Bali's plan to support traditional textile producers is linked to a OVOP program. At present, the industry and Trade Bureau intends to focus on traditional textile manufacturing centers, mainly the villages of Ji'an Ya county, Blair County, clung Gong county and Karanga Sen county.

The Bali industry and Trade Bureau will also help traditional textile producers enhance their competitiveness and maintain free trade areas, ensuring that these efforts can enhance competitiveness and maintain hand in hand relations.

Traditional Bali textiles include gold and cotton satin, weft weaving, etc.

The Bali industry and Trade Bureau is ready to find markets for these traditional textiles in the European Union, the United States, South Africa and Southeast Asian countries.

Bali's exporters are preparing to focus on emerging markets such as South Africa and Southeast Asia, due to the global financial recession and shrinking demand from the EU and the US.

Last year, 50 Bali's industrial and commercial exports of traditional textiles valued at $108 million 800 thousand, down 21.32% from the same period last year. However, this year Bali province is preparing to export 2.5% of its traditional textile products.

Experts who participated in the seminar said that Bali's traditional textile products should apply for patents and copyright. The government should extend its help in this respect because no Bali company has the copyright of these traditional textiles at present.
