Recently, the the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Administration for Industry and Commerce organized the quality inspection of children's clothing products in circulation field.

Altogether 31 batches of children's clothing were tested in six cities in Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin, Wuzhou, Hezhou and Baise, and the qualified rate of spot checks was 29.03%.

22 batches of inspection results were unqualified. The distribution of substandard goods was 14 batches of Nanning, 3 batches of Hezhou, 2 batches of Baise and Guilin, and 1 batches of Liuzhou.

Among them, there are 10 batches of brand piglet paradise which are not qualified, including the product instructions and fiber content items.

The quality inspection of children's clothing products is based on: national mandatory standard GB 18401 "basic technical specifications for national textile products"; GB 5296.4-2012 "instructions on the use of textiles and clothing for consumer goods use"; GB/T 29862-2013 "textile fiber content identification"; and related product standards (including standards for labeling, including effective quality standards and requirements for presentation of products).

The inspection items include identification, fiber content, formaldehyde content, pH value, color fastness (water resistance, sweat resistance, friction resistance, washing resistance, saliva), odor, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, heavy metal content, etc.

The spot checks showed that 22 of the 31 batches of children's clothing were unqualified.

Products such as product description, fiber content, color fastness and other testing items all appeared unqualified products.

The product instructions are missing and unqualified, with an unqualified rate of 65%.

Some enterprises do not strictly label the products according to the relevant regulations and standards of the state. There are no Chinese fiber content, no durability labels, inconsistent internal and external standards, etc.

Some operators and related production enterprises pay insufficient attention to the labeling requirements for fiber content. Some do not mark fiber content or do not label Chinese, while others blindly mark up errors without knowing specific components.

The unqualified rate is 58%.

Of the 31 batches, there were 21 kinds of mandatory standards (GB 18401 and fiber content and identification), and 1 of the recommended products were unqualified. They were wet fastness to rubbing.

Fiber content is one of the important factors that determine fabric value. Fiber composition is inconsistent with the label. In essence, it is misleading consumers and damaging consumers.

On the whole, the fiber content exceeds the allowable range, which is the main reason for the failure of the quality of the products.

The color fastness is mainly due to the fastness of dyes attached to fibers, especially water, friction, sweat stains and saliva. Otherwise, during the wearing process, the dye will fall off and pfer to the skin, which will harm the human body or stain the light colored clothes, which will affect the health and beauty of the consumers.

Especially infants and young children's clothing, because infants often bite their clothes and other things in their mouths, causing children to suck the dye residue into their mouths and get hurt.
