In October 20th, the US Cornell University terminated its business relationship with Jane's clothing company because the latter failed to implement its labour safety regulations for its suppliers in Bangladesh.

According to reports, Jan Spotted is the brand of VF apparel group, but VF clothing group has not signed the "Bangladesh fire and construction safety agreement" within the time limit set by Cornell University.

A series of standards in the agreement are aimed at improving the safety of domestic factories in Bangladesh.

"The size and influence of VF Apparel Group in Bangladesh are very large. VF group should support these initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety of garment factories and workers in Bangladesh."

It is reported that 14 other American universities, including Arizona State University and University of Pennsylvania, have refused to sign Bangladesh's fire and construction safety because of the VF apparel group.
