The Civil Procedure Law of the people's Republic of China stipulates special provisions for civil procedure involving foreign elements.
Fourth special provisions for civil procedure involving foreign elements
The twenty-third chapter is general principles.
The 259th article applies the provisions of this edition to civil litigation involving foreign elements in the field of People's Republic of China.
Other provisions of this Law shall apply to the provisions of this edition.
Article 260th the international treaties concluded or acceded to by People's Republic of China shall be governed by the provisions of the international treaty, except those stipulated in People's Republic of China.
261st, the civil actions brought against foreign nationals, foreign organizations or international organizations enjoying diplomatic privileges and immunities shall be handled in accordance with the relevant laws of the People's Republic of China and the provisions of the international treaties concluded or acceded to by the People's Republic of China.
262nd article

In handling foreign related civil cases, the court shall use the general language and characters of People's Republic of China.
If a party requests to provide a plation, he may provide it, and the expenses shall be borne by the party concerned.
263rd foreign nationals, stateless persons, foreign enterprises and organizations in the people's court shall sue and answer suit. If a lawyer is required to represent a lawsuit, he must entrust a lawyer in People's Republic of China.

Aliens, stateless persons, foreign organizations and organizations entrusted by the people's Republic of China to entrust a lawyer or other person in People's Republic of China to make a lawsuit and send a letter of authorization from or outside the territory of the People's Republic of China shall be certified by the notary office of the host country and certified by the embassy or consulate of the People's Republic of China, or perform the certification procedures stipulated in the relevant treaties concluded between People's Republic of China and the host country.
