In his speech, Xu Wenying pointed out that the textile and garment industry has the characteristics of labor intensive, cluster development, long industrial chain, and obvious brand advantages.

Xinjiang has initially formed an industrial system dominated by cotton spinning and viscose fiber, and has the advantages of cotton resources, land and energy. It has a good foundation for developing the textile and garment industry.

At the meeting, Xu Jiping introduced the docking of textile and garment industry between Zhejiang and Akesu and the construction of Akesu textile industrial city (Development Zone).

He said that in the 4 years since the implementation of the construction of the Akesu textile industrial city (Development Zone), 22 textile and garment enterprises have been introduced, and 600 thousand and 10 million meters of textile production capacity has been formed, and the number of industrial workers has reached 8600.

At the investment fair, the delegation of Xinjiang signed 9 textile and garment industry projects with the participating enterprises, with the signing amount of 12 billion 970 million yuan.

The project involves the production of spindles, garment production, research and development of functional fabrics, clothing apparel research and development, and park construction.

At the meeting, Xinjiang prefectures and municipalities also had interactive exchanges with participating enterprises in the development of key textile industries around the country to further enhance understanding and promote win-win cooperation and seek common development.
