The third meeting of the working group on Trade and investment was held in Shanghai.

From the member states of the group of twenty, Spain, Holland, Singapore, New Zealand, Senegal, Egypt, Kazakhstan and other guest countries, as well as WTO, joint China World Trade Center conference, OECD, world bank, international trade center and other international institutions, more than 200 delegates attended the meeting, and the twenty country business group (B20) also sent representatives to participate.

Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

In his speech, he pointed out that the current global economy is still in a period of deep adjustment.

In the past four years, the growth rate of trade has been slower than the economic growth rate, and the engine of economic growth has been weakened. The latest reports of relevant international organizations show that the world trade restrictive measures reach the highest monthly average, and global investment has not yet returned to pre crisis levels.

As the main platform of global economic governance, the group of twenty should take measures to promote global trade and investment.

The group of twenty Working Group on Trade and investment was established this year. It had held two meetings in Beijing and Nanjing in January and April, and held an informal meeting in Paris, France, on 1 -6 May 31st.

This meeting is a preparatory meeting for the trade ministers' meeting of the group of twenty, which will last for two days.

Wang Shouwen pointed out that since this year, all sides have strengthened the trade of the group of twenty.

Five topics, including mechanism building, promoting global trade growth, supporting multilateral trading system, promoting global investment policy cooperation and coordination, and promoting inclusive and coordinated global value chains, were discussed in depth.

China looks forward to working together with all parties to achieve positive and pragmatic results in these areas and submit a meeting of Ministers of trade of the group of twenty, to be held in Shanghai on 9-10 July.
