Mexico's foreign minister, Marcelo Ebrard, said Mexico will continue to take measures to prevent Central American immigrants from entering the US border. The government rebutted Trump's accusation of Mexico's "doing nothing", saying that without Mexico's efforts, 250 thousand immigrants will arrive in the US in 2019.


Theoretically, this will reduce the number of new settlers in Central America to almost zero, thereby avoiding the 5% tariff that will come into effect next week. Economists at Goldman Sachs believe that the possibility of imposing tariffs on Mexico's imports is 70% in June 10th.
