According to the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce issued a notice in September 3rd to announce the final ruling on the anti-dumping investigation of imported Phenol originating in the United States, the European Union, South Korea, Japan and Thailand. It ruled that the import of Phenol originating in the United States, the European Union, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Thailand was dumping. The domestic industry suffered substantial damage, and there was a causal relationship between dumping and material damage. Since September 6, 2019, the anti-dumping duty has been imposed on the import of phenol from the above countries (regions). The tax rate is 10.6%-287.2%, with a period of 5 years.

In response to the application of phenol industry in China, the Ministry of Commerce issued a notice in March 26, 2018, which decided to initiate anti-dumping investigations on imported Phenol originating in the United States, the European Union, South Korea, Japan and Thailand. After filing the case, the Ministry of Commerce conducted investigations in strict accordance with relevant laws and regulations of China and WTO rules. On May 27, 2019, it released the affirmative preliminary ruling of the case on the basis of preliminary investigation, and then made the final ruling after further investigation.
