In 2019 1-6, the total export value of textiles and clothing exported to Korea was US $6 billion 390 million, a decline of 8% over the same period of the previous year. The main export item was the export value of cloth products of 3 billion 640 million US dollars, accounting for nearly 6 of the total export value. The export value of garments and accessories was 870 million US dollars, accounting for 14% of the total export value. Except for miscellaneous items, the export value of all products declined compared with the same period of the previous year. Among them, the largest recession was fiber products, accounting for 13% of the decline, while the bulk of export products declined by 8%.

In 2019 1-6, the total value of textiles and clothing imports in Korea was 7 billion 390 million US dollars, up 0.1% from the same period of the previous year. The main import items were 4 billion 450 million dollars worth of garments and clothing accessories, accounting for 60% of the total import value. The import value of fibers, yarns and fabrics fell 11%, 6%, 4%, respectively, compared with the same period of the previous year.
