According to the Jordanian times, MuneerDeyeh, chairman of the textile and garment Federation, said on Thursday that many clothing and footwear shops in Jordan had declared bankruptcy in the two months of September and October. The textile and garment alliance called on the government to reduce sales tax and immediately reduce sales tax from 16% to 8% to save Jordan's struggling garment industry.

Chairman Deyeh believes that reducing sales tax will help revive the market, improve people's purchasing power, promote cash flow and reduce sales taxes, profits and benefits. Reducing sales tax does not mean that government revenue will decrease; conversely, it means that the cash flow in the market will increase accordingly, thereby improving the economy and increasing gross domestic product. The current sales tax rate has made it hard for a large part of the people to buy basic necessities, which is a deterioration of the market business environment. Therefore, we need to take measures as soon as possible to allow Jordan's most important garment industry to restore its vitality as soon as possible before more companies and companies in different industries go bankrupt.
