India Explores Textile National Brands For The Global Market
An official of the India government said on Tuesday that the Ministry of textiles convened a stakeholder meeting to consult the new textile policy, including the need to build umbrella brands for the global textile sector.
He said the meeting was scheduled to be held by the trade advisor of the Ministry on Wednesday, and the quality symbol of the Department would be discussed. The official said that the notice of the meeting asked for a discussion of the brand positioning needs of India's textiles and clothing in the global market by establishing a umbrella brand of textiles and introducing quality marks.
The Department will also seek feedback to improve the key functions of the Department, which is an industry that creates high employment opportunities.
He said the meeting will discuss manufacturing, exports, policy frameworks and best practices in China, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Turkey. The conference will also discuss the threats posed by free trade agreements. He added that building quality and ecosystem is one of the agenda of the conference.
