According to Mr. Chen Yujun, Vietnam's trade counsellor in Belgium and the European Union, at the Forum on "EU Vietnam free trade agreement (evfta) - strategic cooperation opportunities for sustainable development", evfta allows Vietnam to approach the EU market, establish sustainable trade relations, and at the same time become Vietnam's economic advantage over other competitive countries. Counsellor Chen also reminded that evfta brings many excellent opportunities, but Vietnamese enterprises need to improve their consciousness, corporate behavior and safeguard the spirit of the industry. They should not engage in commercial fraud, especially avoid becoming the third country of transshipment goods, so that other countries can benefit from evfta indirectly.

It is reported that the EU is promoting the control of trade fraud. The European anti fraud Office - Olaf has conducted research and analysis and plans to expand the scope of investigation to Vietnam. Counsellor Chen reminded that after the entry into force of evfta, the EU will pay more attention to trade fraud investigation. Therefore, Vietnamese associations need to play a greater role in observing and early detecting negative trends in enterprises, so as to take measures with the competent authorities.
