On October 30th, Zhang Zhaoyang, chairman and CEO of Sohu's board of directors, affirmed the Sohu's online game "Tianlong eight" in the three quarter earnings call conference.

In the three quarter, the game contributed $12 million 700 thousand to Sohu.

But Zhang Zhaoyang also said that the first quarter of 2008, "dragon eight" revenue will slow down, the revenue will contribute to 5~10%.

In the third quarter, "dragon eight" contributed 1/3 of the revenue to Sohu.

According to the earnings report, Sohu's total revenue in the third quarter was US $51 million 500 thousand, of which, the revenue of "dragon eight" was $12 million 700 thousand, an increase of 473% over the same period last year, an increase of 232% over the previous quarter, accounting for about 29% of Sohu's total revenue.

But Zhang Zhaoyang expects that in the first quarter of 2008, the revenue of this game will slow down and the quarterly revenue will grow by 5~10%.

Zhang Zhaoyang also said that Sohu will continue to introduce new games. "Deer tripod" will be Sohu's upcoming Q version of online games.

Although the online games contributed a lot to the Sohu in the third quarter, its future direction is rather uncertain.

Familiar with Sohu insiders revealed that the core developers of "dragon eight" are from Kingsoft, and team stability is facing challenges.
